There are a lot of misinformation out there ...

First, a teacher in May on suspicion of dyslexia diagnosis can not ... need special training to do. A pediatrician and an MRI did not help much, either. You need a specialist or learning neuro-psychiatrist who is trained to diagnose dyslexia. The most common test that is given as an indicator CTOPP.

Second is dyslexia a term used a reading disability. However, dyslexia is much clearer now. While the children speak of non-dyslexics to "making things backwards," which is a confusion with B and D, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., or a symptom, not the cause of the problem. Typically, a family history of dyslexia is (but not always known that kids these days not only "good read" or declared insane ... in fact, most dyslexics have above average intelligence and are usually in Art for talented / spatial thinking).

Thirdly, the regular classes will not be enough to help a child who is dyslexicArn. You may need special tutoring and color overlays to help them to learn compensatory strategies, which they read and write in a normal classroom. They want a teacher certified in Orton Gillingham method (there are plenty to be found, but two that I know work is http://www.bartonreading.com/dys.html Barton and http://www.slingerland.org Slingerland / ) A center for the generic classes that Kumon, Score, Sylvan, or do not help.

Finally, dyslexia is not something that can grow outside. Some mild dyslexia May compensatory strategies for their own development, but need the most help. Mentoring is a long-term, the sooner you get better, because it is a process of 2-4 years. Discover one of the above websites for more information.

your child's teacher suggested that she see her child for the team to study the child. This team will provide assistance to the story of his son and the current performance based, and may suggest an evaluation for special needs education, it looks to whether a learning disability is reading. The overall evaluation should consist of a psychological eval (academic and, where appropriate IQ tests), tests of language, fine / gross motor testing (reports of teachers, the history of the development budget of the contract concluded with you) and everything is necessary. If your child for special services, to education must have an individual education plan (IEP). Search on learning disabilties idea to investigate further.

You can do an MRI to show which parts of the brain that are more and demotivated. However, if you want performance in school, you still have to go through this process. Look at your State Department of Education, Division of Special Education to determine hows for you.

Dyslexia is an umbrella term that covers a variety of disabilities and learning difficulties. My father suffers from dyslexia functional, not read about a class-5 level. This is mainly because he grew up in the 40s, and I do not know how to work with children with dyslexia. This is the other end of the scale. I'm at the other end. My dyslexia is affecting my emotional state. When I get tired or stressed, it is difficult to make words.

It can also simply a different style of learning. My son has been diagnosed, but still have difficulties with abstract principles and probably learned a better way than the other.

If you notice, I told my father, me and my son. There may be a genetic thing. Neurons fire not only in the same way in others.

You have your child examined by a specialist. An MRI showed nothing, Tho. Your city / state should have a program and helps assess learning problems. Does your child responds with a speech therapist, a phychologicalSexually transmitted diseases, and possibly other specialists in this field. This does not mean that they are crazy, mostly just about the best people for feedback.

Perhaps your son will not be better on a certain type of teaching environment, or taught, so that the best way to grasp what the teacher says. It is part of the "No Child Behind," that all children can learn, teach, whatever. For this reason, to learn, to your local school on the best way to change their teaching left your daughter. Enough to know how.
